Quarter-Finals

Alumni FC 3 - 0 Mundford FC
Mossside FC 1 - 1 FC Longfield (FC Longfield win on penalties)
Carnforth Rangers FC 1 - 0 Ringwood Town FC
Woodstreet FC 0 - 0 Tansy Green AFC

Two penalty shoot-outs made for a tense start to 'Finals Day', with Longfield and Tansy Green holding their nerve to go through on spot-kicks. Meanwhile, pre-tournament favourites Ringwood Town suffered a shock defeat at the hands of Carnforth Rangers. The Lancashire side struck early on and showed real composure and organisation in defence to secure a famous victory. Alumni and Mundford played out the pick tie, producing some slick passing and great skill for the watching masses. Alumni were clinical in the box, but 3-0 was harsh on Mundford who created plenty of chances of their own.

Semi-Finals

Alumni FC 4 - 0 FC Longfield
Carnforth Rangers FC 2 - 0 Tansy Green AFC

No penalties required this time around, as Alumni and Carnforth Rangers both went through to set up a classic final. Alumni had the better of FC Longfield on the indoor pitch and their superior fitness proved to be a major factor. But Carnforth Rangers were pushed all the way in the outdoor heat until a controversial late goal gave them a little breathing space.

Final

Alumni FC 2 - 0 Carnforth Rangers FC

The two best teams on the day came head-to-head in the final of the first ever LSPL Cup. With temperatures above 25 degrees, it was a tough and tiring encounter for both sides but the game more than lived up to its billing! In the end it was Alumni who took the crown to the delight of the players, management staff and supporters. Alumni's pace in attack proved to be too much for the Carnforth Rangers defence, who had played out of their skins in previous rounds. With 9 goals scored and 0 conceded on finals day, few can deny Alumni a deserved title. As well as the trophy, victory also secures them a Barclays Premier League club-style sponsorship package and spot in the 2009/10 Lucozade Sport Performance League.

The Finals

The last eight remaining will be invited to play a final's day at Manchester United's Carrington training ground.

The winners will be awarded the LSPL Cup, VIP Barclays Premier League tickets and entry into the LSPL for the 2009/2010 season.

LSPL Cup Season 2009/2010

The LSPL Cup is now even bigger and better than before! 1,024 teams will compete against each other in a virtual knockout competition, using results from their own league matches to determine their fate. The further that teams progress in the competition, the more Lucozade Sport products and prizes are up for grabs.

And when it gets down to the business end of the competition, the final 8 teams will play against each other in a mini-tournament. As well as the coveted LSPL Cup itself, the eventual winners will receive VIP Barclays Premier League tickets and a Barclays Premier League Club Style Sponsonsorship.
