Caffeine Boost is proven to increase the feeling of sharpness in professional players

LSSA Help
In December 2007 the LSSA conducted its first ever applied research study with Tottenham Hotspur FC. This came about after Spurs became closely involved in the development of new Lucozade Sport with Caffeine Boost. Dr Sam Erith, head of sports science at the club, was interested to test the performance benefits of caffeine on professional players and the quantity required to make a difference in training and matches.
The Study
The testing itself took place over two days at Spurs Lodge and focused on areas of performance such as focus and alertness. Players were given a 500ml bottle of Caffeine Boost to drink before performing the tests and these results were then compared with those players who had not taken any caffeine at all.
Proven Edge
The results proved that 100% of the players felt sharper or more alert having drunk Lucozade Sport with Caffeine Boost. On the back of the project's success, there is now a definite platform for further studies in the future and the LSSA remains committed to working with the club as it continues to look for perfection both on and off the field.
