  • The results mechanic for the LSPL Cup is as follows:
    • The greater goal difference will go through (e.g. 3-1 will beat 4-3)
    • If the goal difference is equal, then the winner will be decided on 'most goals scored' (e.g. 4-3 will beat 3-2)
    • If still equal, then the organising committee will decide who qualifies based on predefined "sudden death" criteria. The sudden death criteria will be decided on the basis of the team that supplies the most e-mail addresses of team members to the competition. If this criteria cannot separate the teams the decision will be at the discretion of the organisers.
    • If neither team in a fixture records a valid result in the game period this place in the next round will be taken by a ‘wildcard’ team. ‘Wildcards’ will be drawn from teams who were unable to play a league game but contacted lspl@lucozade.com to explain the circumstances.
    • In the event that the required number of wildcard teams cannot be allocated in the manner above (due to an insufficient number of teams contacting the LSPL Cup at lspl@lucozade.com to explain the circumstances of their missed fixtures) further wildcards will be drawn from losing teams who have submitted their results in the round period.
    • Outcomes:
    • Where a game has been won on goal difference, the result will be displayed as follows:
      Wheatsheaf 4 v 2 Mariners
      (W 6-2) (W 3-1)
    • Where a game has been postponed and/or a result has not been entered the result will be displayed as follows: Wheatsheaf - v - Mariners
    • Where a game is even on goal difference and won on most goals scored the result will be displayed as follows:
      Wheatsheaf4 v 4 Mariners
(W 6-2)(W 4-0) (Wheatsheaf win on "Most Goals Scored")
    • Where a game is even on goal difference and goals scored the result will be displayed as follows:
      Wheatsheaf 4 v 4 Mariners
      (W 6-2) (W 6-2)
      (Wheatsheaf win on "Sudden Death")
