Top Tips

  • Tempo running is key. This will really give you the ‘money miles’ for 10k training and will include running at a faster but more manageable pace for longer duration. Tempo running has long been used by Kenyan athletes for many years and we all know their running prowess.
  • Steady does it. Don’t neglect your steady runs. Base miles help build the endurance you’ll need to go the distance.
  • Know your pace. Train at your target race pace and it’ll feel easier come race day.
  • Hydrate. Give yourself that extra boost on race day by ensuring that you start the event suitably hydrated by drinking 500mls of Lucozade Sport in the hour before you run.
  • Stay headstrong. Faster 10k running involves pushing the boundaries of comfort. Develop a strong mind and will. When it hurts you can do it!
