In order to work, be creative or simply just to relax I find it important to be in my own space. Usually when someone talks about their own space bedrooms, offices and homes instantly spring to mind, but for me this even extends to my laptop, which really is, as a blogger, my workspace. My laptop broke and I had to send it off for repair, and using old computers and other peoples laptops to work drove me absolutely crazy because I was not in my personal computer space where everything is just how I like it. Thankfully my laptop has been returned to me, and while things like reinstalling my entire iTunes library and arranging all my files and folders just the way I like them is time consuming, this little incident got me thinking about how we personalise our personal spaces, and start looking for inspiration as to how other people organise their personal spaces.
These days Pinterest is usually the first place I turn to for visual inspiration, so it was not long before I'd built up a board of Inspiring Personal Spaces I wish that I could emulate including bedrooms, offices, reading nooks and even some pretty creative rooftop lounge areas.

I dream of a beautiful desk space in a bright, white room with a nice, big and shiny Mac desktop to blog on and for a comfortable sofa for people to lounge on when they come and visit me - I think the Who What Wear offices in Los Angeles are so chic and stylish.

However, for something a bit more homely I love this desk, and if I had a creative job where I wrote everything by hand rather than on a laptop I'd love something like this desk below.

My (perfectly organised) bookmarks on my internet browser has a folder of home DIY's to really personalise existing spaces without undertaking any drastic redesigning or remodelling which I always keep telling myself I must get around to trying. For outdoor spaces (or even for parties) I think these fantastic DIY tassel garlands have to be in order, and beautiful flower arrangements you've made yourself are a fantastic way to add inspiration to and to personalise any space. Over last few months I have also stumbled across some fantastic tutorials to help you out with some more alternative personal spaces; Every discerning fashionista must count her closet as one of her most important personal spaces, so I really enjoyed this tutorial on how to organise your closet in 6 easy steps, and anyone who loves sinking into a lovely hot bath must count their tub as a personal space, right? I loved this tutorial on how to take your bath like you are in a movie.
How do you like to organise and personalise your own personal spaces?
