Is your website shop closed?

Have you changed the recipe of Lucozade Energy drink?

Yes. Rolling out in August 2023 is a bold new taste for Lucozade Energy Orange and Lucozade Energy Original.

The new recipes deliver a more “zingy” taste, with a bolder taste for the unique Original flavour and a more citrusy, orange note for Orange.

Why have you changed the bottle design?

We’ve introduced the new look bottles across Lucozade Energy Original and Lucozade Energy Orange to coincide with the flavour enhancements. Watch this space for the rest of the range to follow in coming months.

Are Lucozade Energy products suitable for a Vegetarian & Vegan diet?

All our drinks are suitable for vegetarian and vegan diets. We do not use any animal-derived ingredients in our Lucozade Energy drinks or during the manufacturing process.

Is Lucozade Energy suitable for Halal diet?

We recommend that you check the ingredients list so that you can make an informed decision depending on your specific dietary requirements. All our ingredients are labelled on the pack and can also be found on our website.

We do not use any animal-derived ingredients in our drinks or during our manufacturing process. We do not add alcohol to our drinks as an ingredient, but there may be very low levels as alcohol may sometimes be present in some of the flavourings that are used. Alcohol is defined as ethyl alcohol or ethanol. We are advised by International Trade Federations that products cannot be claimed to be alcohol-free as natural fruit flavours and fruit juices may contain naturally occurring alcohol.

Is Lucozade Energy suitable for a gluten free diet?

We do not use any ingredients which contain gluten in our Lucozade Energy drinks.

How much caffeine is in a bottle of Lucozade Energy?

All of our Lucozade Energy drinks contain approximately 12mg of caffeine per 100ml. The caffeine content varies slightly for the different flavours.

Is it safe to drink Lucozade Energy during pregnancy?

Lucozade Energy is safe for consumption by healthy adults as part of a varied an balanced diet unless otherwise recommended by a health care professional. The NHS recommends that caffeine intake should be limited to 200mg per day during pregnancy. All of our Lucozade Energy drinks contain approximately 12mg of caffeine per 100ml. Is Lucozade Energy suitable for children?

Lucozade Energy is suitable for consumption by healthy children over the age of 3 and adults as part of a well-balanced diet and active lifestyle, unless contra-indicated or otherwise recommended by a healthcare professional. Lucozade Energy should not be used to replace other foods in the diet which have a broader nutritional value. Lucozade Energy is not adequate for children under 3 as it contains approximately 12mg of caffeine per 100ml.

Is Lucozade Energy suitable for diabetics?

Lucozade Energy Original now contains approximately 50% less glucose-based carbohydrates as of April 2017. All flavours have significantly less glucose-based carbohydrates than before - please check the label. We're unable to give medical advice and advise our consumers to speak to their healthcare professional.

What Lucozade Energy's stance on artificial sweeteners?

To achieve a great-tasting Lucozade Energy drink with fewer calories, we use a range of low calorie sweeteners. All the sweeteners used in Lucozade Energy have been approved as safe to consume by the relevant authorities.

Are Lucozade Sport products suitable for a Vegetarian & Vegan diet?

The following flavours are suitable for a vegetarian and vegan diet:

Sport Body fuel: Orange, Raspberry, Fruit Punch, Cherry Kick, Mango & Passion Fruit, Caribbean Burst, Brazilian Guava.

Low Cal: Orange, Lemon & Lime.

Dual-fuel Energy Gels: Orange.

Can I drink Lucozade Sport products during pregnancy?

Lucozade Sport is safe to drink during pregnancy, however, we suggest that you discuss with a healthcare professional if you have further concerns over diet during pregnancy.

Are Lucozade Sport products suitable for diabetics?

If you are diabetic and wish to consume any of our products, we would recommend speaking directly with your GP who is more aware of your medical history and can refer you to a State Registered Dietitian for more tailored advice if required.

What does "isotonic" mean?

An isotonic drink has the same concentration of particles as blood. This makes them easy to absorb, delivering fluid and other particles into the body at a high rate.

How much Lucozade Sport should I drink during exercise?

The amount of Lucozade Sport you drink and the products you use entirely depends on how long you are exercising for and how intense your workout is. Visit our product page to find out what is the right Lucozade Sport product for you.

What Lucozade Zero's stance on artificial sweeteners?

Where do I get my energy from if Lucozade Zero doesn't have Sugar?

Lucozade Zero is a sparkling low-calorie drink, not an energy drink. It's a new addition to our range because we are committed to offering more choice to our consumers. Now in the range there is a choice of a low-calorie drink without sugar, or a drink containing sugar and sweeteners.

Why is Lucozade Zero called Zero when it has 4 calories?

Like other food and drink manufacturers, we are governed by the Nutrition and Health Claims Regulation regarding what we can say about our drinks. Drinks classed as zero-calories can contain 4 calories or less per 100ml. Having a few calories is something that Zero drinks tend to have in common.

Lucozade Zero Original contains 1.7 calories per 100ml, Lucozade Zero Orange contains 3.8 calories per 100ml, and Lucozade Zero Pink Lemonade contains 2 calories per 100ml.

These calories are regarded as being so low that they are considered negligible in terms of the contribution they make to a person's daily energy intake.

What is Lucozade Alert?

Lucozade Alert is a distinctive stimulation drink range, containing naturally sourced caffeine and vitamin B3 which helps reduce tiredness without compromising on the great Lucozade taste.

How much caffeine does Lucozade Alert contain?

Lucozade Alert drinks contain 32mg caffeine per 100ml. A 500ml can of Lucozade Alert contains 160mg of caffeine in total.

How much caffeine does Alert contain compared to Lucozade Energy?

Lucozade Alert contains a similar level of natural caffeine per 100ml as a cup of coffee , alongside Vitamin B3 to help reduce tiredness. Lucozade Energy contains 12mg of caffeine per 100ml, about a third as much as a cup of coffee and has never been intended for use as a stimulation drink.

Lucozade Energy is a soft drink and has a much lower caffeine content; typically 12mg of caffeine per 100ml.

Who is Lucozade Alert aimed at?

Lucozade Alert is aimed at adults who lead busy lives and are looking for a drink to support their energy needs.

What pack size and flavours are Lucozade Alert available in?

Lucozade Alert is available in a 500ml can format, in three flavours; Tropical Burst, Cherry Blast and Original.

Is Lucozade Alert High Fat Sugar and Salt (HFSS)?

Lucozade Alert is non-HFSS and is under the Soft Drinks Industry Levy aka the ”Sugar Tax” (Lucozade Alert is 4g/100ml)

Is Lucozade Alert the same as the old Lucozade Energy recipe with full sugar?

Lucozade Alert is a new stimulation drink that contact natural caffeine and Vitamin B3. We’re proud we’ve been able to deliver this tasty product while also being low on calorie (17kcal/100ml) and with 4g sugar/100ml. This is a different product to our Lucozade Energy soft drinks.

Is Lucozade Alert suitable for children?

This product is marketed only to adults. It is not recommended for children to drink due to its high caffeine content. This already aligns with our own responsible marketing code which means we do not market drinks to children (under the age of 16 in the UK.).

We are signatories to the British Soft Drinks Association’s voluntary Code of practice on energy drinks, designed to support consumers and parents who want to make informed choices.

We are also taking steps to minimise the risk of under 16s purchasing Alert via the vending machines we manage. We are in the process of communicating these principles to other vending operators.

I’m pregnant, can I drink Lucozade Alert?

Habitual caffeine consumption up to 200 mg per day by pregnant women does not give rise to safety concerns.
